Well for some reason our Serverspy service has slowed the site dramatically the last 24hrs. I have disabled the TS monitor and BF server monitors on the homepage until i can figure it out. |

Thought I'd post this here.. But sometimes when browsing the forum I get a "Page Not Found" error But all you need to do is update or go back and it'll work again... Had it happen a few times now.. About two weeks ago when I first experinced it.. Dunno if this has anything to do with it.. Just thought I'd let you know.. Could be my connection aswell of course, just, I haven't had it happen on other sites.. |

yes its crappy, but the monitors were causing an issue. Anyone who was on the site late last night can confirm this... and of course it's ok now, i turned the feature off that was causing the problem.
As far as they other connection issues, the causes can be many things. Security and browser settings, general internet and connection issues, amongst many other things.
Also getting multiple javascripts running on our site is a challenge in an 100% W3C CSS & HTML 4.01 Transitional Compliant, XML, and php enviroment. There are multiple errors in syntax on some pages, but the big 3 browsers tend to be tollerant of them most of the time (so it hasnt been a high priority fix for me) Occassionally might cause something like what is described.
IE pisses me off the more I've used it. Many of the new "security" features are not webdesigner friendly. Methods that used to work no longer do.
Thats it for now
We may have to live w/o the monitors for a few days while i investigate. |

As i said before...i get problems loading this website when there is like 15+ ppl on the website.
And i have had similar problems to those mentioned above. Will mention any future issues to you spastic.
And NO...its not because of my browser either |

ya the more content that is pulled from sites other than ours, the more chances of something going wrong. One element doesnt load right and it lags the whole page. I'm gonna look at streamlining a little, and being selective of what content I'm pulling from other sites. The "visitor map" was causing load delays as well and is disabled for the time being. |

Fuck me...the speed of loading webpages now is like lightyears ahead
REAL big difference spastic...please take it into consideration.
If people want to know who is on TS, they can click on a link which specifically SHOWS who is there...just an idea... |

i always appreciate the input, many times these issues don't occur for me so it's the only way things get fixed. It's pretty rare these days that there arent at least 15 peeps on (counting guests). Some of the problems may just be the nature of the internet, and others may be due to the tight security we run on the site.
As far as I know you have been unwilling to try another browser, so how can you be sure? |

well i did a little testing and investigating. Our website tracking service has reported a handfull of "cant resolve domain www.kma-clan.com"
The name server that translates our web address into the actual IP address of our host, for whatever reason, is unavailable to provide the needed info. This can happen for a variety of reasons and is out of our control.
Also checked how our database was running, and was pleased to find it operating smoothly. We average 124 queries to the database PER SECOND! Out of all those queries, only 5 have been "slow queries", which are defined as queries that take longer than 10 seconds to complete. Most complete in under a second. With the massive volume of data being transfered, it's only natural to expect a few errors here and there. PC's arent perfect and neither are web servers. We've been up and running our NEW site for nearly 6 months now, so thats approximately 1956529412 queries, to put those 5 "slow queries" in perspective.
I might look at streamlining the amount of queries to the database, by removing and optimizing some of the features on the homepage and other places... Less queries, in theory, should equal less errors. Will keep the "post whore" block, but probably dump the "site whore" block. I rarely use the "latest posts" block because it only lists public threads that were opened recently. Really just a small portion of the actual activity on our forums, so thats also a candidate for the axe. The blocks that display server info or random images don't do any database queries so they ok, except for the reason this whole topic was started of course
thats it for now. |

if you have to know who's on TS w/o logging in try this site for the time being
http://www.tsviewer.com/index.php?page=ts_viewer&ID=20022
Server monitors are still slow but are displayed on our BF2 and BF2142 pages
the monitors on the homepage won't return until i can confer with serverspy and see whats going on. That may take a few days or more. |

thats good to know you tried another browser, the more detail the better I can troubleshoot.
i thought you said either the site worked for you or it didnt, now you saying it's slow too (other than last night)?
streamlining has been started. it will help in some ways most likely, however i will repeat

I imagine your internet in Aussieland has to be bounced off a satellite or two to get our site... That could lead to some instability. Or.....maybe our forums have a mind of their own and get tired of you mollesting them 30 times in a row, in 6 month old topics, on a nightly basis |

They really laid cable under the ocean? I imagine that satellites would have been easier and more cost effective (Maintanance). |
