Can be a mix of a lot of stuff. I've had it happen due to error on my Ram... You might want to check out memtest.. You could also try and update your MB Chipset and Bios.. There's usually an error report when you get these kind of errors.. Would help a great deal to see what they say.. Or you could look in the "Event Manager" sometimes it'll be written up there.

I have never done a memtest other than, put it in and it works with no POST codes it works.

Event Manager:

Start >> Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Event Viewer

Good luck, sounds like you have a windows issue, and from what you said it is happening sparatically with no pattern, hard to track somthing like that down.

BTW Important: If you plan to flash your BOIS, do it with a UPS (Uninteruptable Power Supply) or at least not during any time that you think there is a chance, even a slight one, that the power may flick. If it does during your flash, you'll be in the market for a new MOBO.

And also this is what it told me on the microsoft site after i sent the report

You received this message because a device driver installed on your computer caused the Windows operating system to stop unexpectedly. This type of error is referred to as a "stop error." A stop error requires you to restart your computer

Ok.. I think the dmp file you mentioned is a dump file created by windows when the error happens..

Try uninstalling every driver you installed manually.. And try using the drivers you've got on cd (they're usually older than the ones on the sites).. Once you've done that, see if everything runs somewhat smoothly.. Then try and update the drivers step by step.. I.E. If it runs smootly, try updating ur gfx drivers.. Then play a bit, if nothing happens and everything runs smoothly. Update a new driver.. Until (if anything happens at all) you find the quilty driver.

Some newer drivers are known to cause problems.. Many gamers actually downgrade to older versions of drivers to get no errors. So you might wanna try it out.. A good example is my X-Fi Soundcard which with the newest driver fucks up bf2142.

yes it sounds more and more like a driver issue.. might do a google for your motherboard and vid card and see if anyone else is having same issue..

Before you begin uninstalling all of your drivers from your hardware. Think first if you have installed anything new lately. I.E. Vidio Card, Sound Card.

I looked up at the first post and you said that you had recently upgraded your vido card.

BIG THING: If your vidio card was onboard your motherboard and not stand alone, and you added a stand alone vidio card and did not disable the onboard vidio card, that is your first thing to check. Should be found somewhere along the lines of "On Board Device Configuration" in your motherboard BIOS system.

Also, since you have installed a new vidio card, go to your device manager.

Start >> Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Computer Management >> Device Manager

Try uninstalling your vidio card here, then turn off your computer. (Hard Boot) Reboot into windows and when it informs you that it has found new hardware, ignore it, tell it not to update, and download the latest drivers from the manufacuer's website. It's very easy if it is an NVidia or ATI Card.

I had a Blue Screen the other day for no reason, so I felt all the connections to power, monitor, and so forth, I noticed that my computer's powersupply ejecter fan is blowing HOT air. As soon as I can get out of bed ill be MODin my case for more airflow, hot air can cause ANY kind of error.

First suspicion at this point would be wiether or not the RAM you added to your system is the same speed as your old RAM. Normaly, it would not matter, but I'm curious if you installed some that is faster than the old, normally it would run at the highest slowest speed. I.E. If your old stick was DDR333 and you install a DDR400 both sticks would run DDR333. Quite Possibly, your two RAM Sticks are different speeds and/or manufactuerers, and just wont work together. Try removing the new stick, and see if the problem continues, if it does, try replacing then you picked up a bad stick, if it does continue, try running on just the new stick.

If this doesnt uncover anything, get back too me, we could get together and go to the next step.

Try removing the new stick, and see if the problem continues, if it does, then you picked up a bad stick, if it does continue, try running on just on the new stick. Be carefull with those sticks, try not to be mad at the computer while working inside it, be gentle.

(I broke a PCI Express Slot's lock once when I burnt a CPU for not reason cause the card wouldnt come out the first try, so be patient.)

If this doesnt uncover anything, get back too me, we could get together and go to the next step.

(When that CPU burnt the motherboard also went, I mailed them back to ASUS and ASUS replaced both the MOBO and CPU free of charge to me because the board was deemed problematic by their technitions.)

You said you had baught a 2nd stick of RAM.

First unhook all of your power cables, monitor cable, mouse, keyboard, joystick, sound, and any other perhiphials I forgot to mention.

Take your computer and put it on a desk of some kind, dont sit on the carpet with it cause this will generate bad static electricity. (It takes 30 volts of static to destroy a circut board, and humans dont start feeling it of somewhere upwars of a 1000volts)

Take out your new stick of RAM and return to just using your old stick, and see if you continue to have the errors. If so, repeat the process, but remove the old stick and use just the new one.

Your MOBO will have anywhere from 2 to 4 slots for your memory, make sure your are using slot 1, sometimes coded with a different color than the others and on the top or bottom of the board. For instance, if there are 4 RAM Module slots, there will be 2 blues, 2 yellows. The blue slot on the outside of the 4 is slot 1. BTW: If your mobo is color coded like this and has 4 slots, be sure to use just slot 1 and it's corresponding colored slot.

If you contine to have unresolved issues while eliminated both sticks of RAM as causes, then you might have a real issue, but If it were at my desk, these are the steps I would be taking, with the information provided.

(If you are not sure which memory slots to use, check your motherboard manual for a memory map. That will tell you heads from tails.)
