When did you first start playing Axis and Allies?

I thought this might be an interesting question because to me A&A has alot of really good players, and also alot of noobs. So, when noobs inevitably get bashed by leet players do they give up at the game or do the pick up the game faster by copying tactics. I'm interested to see if the current crop of A&A players have picked the game up recently or have been playing since it has been released.

For myself I played the A&A demo from Dec 2004 till the spring of 2005, and since then played the full A&A version.

LOL, i looked back at my old films and the oldest one was 3yr ago today, April 10 2005.... Smile

but I'm no "leet" player though..... Shocked

When bored, I do try and head in noob games and offer some advice to the poor nubs.. But alot of times they have been bashed so often they kick me from their games before I get a word out...

i joined kma when it was 6 months old so figure out the math for me. but i stopped and play constantly because the game is full of a bunch of bullshit.

1.(KMA)Ice - Kept testing new tactics
2.=AD=MAXPOWER - kept yelling at me whenever i did something wrong
3.=xXx=Sirloudman - played alot of 2v2 with

demo prior to the game coming out. first mentor...bangedup. after i got into the real game it was deathstar spru 90 woofie witchking(prior to xxx) and breed (while in xxx)

Bang and Klofrou-Paper dominated and everyone looked up to and wanted to beat em.

There was also a euro player called Zylinder24 who was unreal, but never got the full version. I remember when he played Sirloudman, once he was a general and in xXx, and we all thought loud would crush this guy who had only played in the demo, but Zylinder held his own and played him really close for 30 min or so.

Another time Oki came to the demo. He played this guy Turkish demo player named MayeR. Of course Oki played him 1v1 with $1500 and had his fine tuned mech rush build that he had copied from the full version. MayeR went 1 inf tent-2 mech tent-8 mechs and owned Oki in a couple of minutes. It was some funny shit. we were all like u r the best player in one of the major clans on the full version and we just owned u. wtf! haha heil oki

The best part of the demo was how we would move our bases. In 1v1's when there was a standstill at the front, we would move our entire bases across the map and then flank the other players base while hoping that their troops were still at the front.

Another leet 2v2 demo tactic was to give all ur money to ur partner at the beginning of the game and then they make 4 mech asap and rush.

i played alot april-may 2005 but solo, joined KMA with a pretty low % Shocked

I suppose i was mentored by KMA (lol) playing alongside SuBlime, OmahaBeach, JaxSaints, Private808, DrLivo, Dennisthekam, Scuzzle, RoyalLegion, Pain, Spitfire, and Panko amongst many others..... pretty much everyone one the first page of the member list that plays A&A

I'd say WitchKing but I usually got the "Late Night" WitchKing... I may have learned something but it probably wasnt about A&A... Good times... I saw in my old films I had more than one film named "WitchKing Passes Out"

My #1 duty when I went to full version after moving over from Demo was to hunt down the Rebel Clan (I think it was RGB or something) and get vengence. However, I never found those sluts. =/

Hell ya i remember mayer he was hell of a good player in demo he would have been a BEAST in full version if he bought it =/

If i remember correctly Mayer was the one who taught Sirloudman how to play.
