today when i was play a 4v4 in AnA, about 8 minutes in, my games started getting really fucked up. At first, the terrain became checkered with white squares some with numbers in them, then it got progressively worse until the entire hud was white, text was not showing up, the terrain had regiment badges, unit symbols, numbers, and white spots all over it, and all the models had not skins. i took some screenshots right before my comp died.

Happened to me few times, usualy just had to get out to windows and get back in to fix it. Started to happen when switched from XP to windows7, game crashed sometimes but not that often. never really looked into since i don't play ANA anymore, someone may have a fix for that. |

its the texture rendering messing up. Comes from an outdated game being run on incompatible graphics drivers. If you want, you can try loading an old graphic driver(possibly 1-2 years old) if the only game you play is AnA. |

it was on a geforce 8400 but i dont have anything older; would AnA's age be responsible for the fact that my card runs Day of Defeat: Source perfectly but still lags on AnA?? |

day of defeat is still regularly updated by steam(im guessing that how you have it) I wasnt talking about replacing the graphics card, just rolling back the driver version |

is the driver specific to the card, or can i just use any of these??
NVidia Driver archives
i have a geforce 8400 gs PCI if that makes a difference, also, would it be worth over clocking this thing? |

use the link, overclocking is not recommended as that card is not built for it, and you need lots of air flow in and out of the case to keep it cool. That graphics card will see nominal gains from over clocking, and in turn decrease the lifespan of the card. |

I rolled back the driver to Nvidia 169.21 and AnA still lags on fairly low settings |

This shit happens and makes it VERY hard to see.
It's usually followed by me fataling, bluescreening, freezing, or CTD

I bought a dedicated gaming machine 18 months ago and it runs A&A without ANY problems.
Do a spastic...get an old refurbished machine to play the game. Otherwise...time will eventually wash away A&A from our screens due to it being so old and...well...obsolete
With BF3 coming out, everyone will be playing that and upgrading their PC's accordingly. |
