Internet problems

Internet worked fine then modem died , ordered new modem ( best they had) i get it now im sitting at under 1 mbps download, 3 kbps upload, 433ms. Verizon Dsl , anyone got anyideas to improve this

DSL is not that good. You can upgrade but they charge you even more money. The fastest you can get with dsl is around 7 for download. They will also charge you around 40-50 a month for that speed. You could get 3 for download which is around 30 a month. What you have now is prolly 15-20 a month for 1 download. If you could get cable you would pay around 30-40 for up to 10 download speed. You upload speed would be 1-2 instead of 768. With cable you get more for less. Another issue I had with dsl is losing internet for a few secs everytime we had a bad storm. Another thing with dsl is they want to trouble shoot with you. They would rather spend 10 hours on the phone trouble shooting with you then send someone to your house. Hope this helps. I would get cable- I hope you not sign a year contract.

i pay 69 with phone bundle ( fastest i can get ) I live in the bfe btw. and pretty much its my line from the road, and they are dragging there feet to do it .

how can it be that hard? that is very slow speeds....

have u looked into other companies?

maybe move... i could not live with such slow speeds...

im 17 i cant just move and Verizon has a monopoly where i live atm

fiber optics man, fios. Cable isn't always that great either in some areas, yes dsl is better. I used to live near the telcom office in tallahassee and dsl service was amazing. DSL has to do with location alot of the time.
