What comes first the game, or the experience?

Hi, I'm really new to online gaming. I got this game given to me Christmas and I think I'd like to play it with real players not the bots in singleplayer mode. So I went in search of information of how one goes about getting online with it but I haven't found very much help that way.

A google search brought me here. But as I read through the threads here I find everyone even the youngest have both rank and experience. I have the game period. Well a computer and a headset with mic., but no experience other than a little single player mode but the bots are as stupid as rocks and offer no support when confronting the enemy, so in my opinon that doesn't really count.

So I'd like to ask if anyone can help me out here, It seems I need to play online against someone, get some experience and rank then have someone invite me to join. Now this is where I'm really confused, how the F#$& do you do it. If anyone can offer any assistance I would greatly appreciate it.

uh....ok.....ummm... welcome to Earth, when you open BF2, it has tabs that say singleplayer(which you have been using), multiplayer(click this),options, ect, find a server and game on

well its basically like 1 player except there are the occasional hackers and glitchers and shit like that, the other guys can trash talk to you, you can make friends, you can make enemies, join a clan and make yourself known among the online world idk, theres lots of stuff you can do, as far as the game goes though the only part of the "experience" is the lagging if pings are too high and the ppl around you and how they react and stuff, and you can unlock stuff and get your rank up, well ill shut up now cuz i think you get the idea, oh and 1 more thing you may see the word "noob" tossed around a lot Wink

Thanks Major, Sorry I wasn't clear on this. I've tried that the computer searches the web for servers and comes back empty.

alright @ the Bottom of that screen is filters, try toggling some of them like dedicated only, only occupied servers, ranked servers bla bla

well i dont play bf but i think i should tell u its gonna be hell when u start, every online game is (or am i wrong?). when u r a noob at it ppl gonna tease u alot, and ive seen alot of ppl stop playing games because people dont have respect for them (mean people Razz

),u will get better if u play vs the best. the thing that matters the most is experience, not rank Very Happy

Thanks everyone for the input, I've decided to improve my sills in single player first before confronting the enemy online. Hopefully it won't take too long.

at any game ull gain more experience if u play online, but its better to get to know the game first, i would have done the same Razz

well billy I think I may be back now, so I dont mind catching some games with ya, I work Wed 4-3:30 am Fri 4- 8pm and sat 5-3:30 am, other than that Im down to play whenever, as long as I have weed im gaming. you should pick up Cod4, I really dig that game.....love the Weapons and multiple game modes
