my guess is that maybe your driver for the vid card might be outdated. Might want to check the manufacture site to see if there was an update. If that doesent work try toning down your graphics a bit. |

Can't remember the option settings in BF2 very well.. But do you have the ability to change the depth of the textures ? I.E. 16,24,32 bit ?
If you do, try fiddling with them.. If not, well sorry for spam
That might also be the cause.. I've seen it before, just not in BF2.. |

I think Jeng is right. I used to have the same thing when I first started BF2.
It was a driver / video card setting problem. I have downloaded many drivers trying to figure it out and some made it worse.
What did help was downloading a catalyst control center for your video card that lets you tweek setting to the max.
Make sure you have a RESTORE point saved on your comp before you change anything! ! ! |

well, the thing is, the driver issues wont happen unless theres a update(patch) for the game, since bf2 hasnt had a patch lately then the drivers needed for the game would be exactly the same, so it cant be that.(shouldn't be anyways) |

was thinking it was the the setting in bf2 at first, but it does sound like its a driver problem
if you could list the name of your vid card we can help you with the link, and if you dont know how to find that info we can help with that too. |

well if this problem only arises some of the time, you might want to check your ram. You need at LEAST 1 gig of ram to play bf2(dirty plays with 500, dont know how he does it) Low ram can effect your performance in the game as well as your graphics. |

If you have an nVidia GPU. . .
There is nothing wrong with your video card or driver. Read the .pdf release notes for the newest driver. This is a known issue and hasn't been addressed yet. Specifically related to the flickering grass.

Issue for all GPUs

Battlefield 2: Corruption and flickering occur in the grass when video
settings are set to High.[272027]
They will fix it. . . someday. I have it too. |

I was googling about the grass problem and came upon your post and the release notes. I was trying to find a work around until it actually got fixed. No luck so far. I was just trying to be helpful. |
