Im not talking about the internet. Its the entire comp in general. I could be in windows scrolling or in a game and it will just pause for a few seconds and then recover. It happans to often to play games. Im guessing its bad memory but im not sure. And the ram is built into the motherboard too so that sux. Have had this computer for almost 2 years and no problems until now. What do you guys think? Help please. |

Could be any number of things
I think you have some something working in the background causing your pc to momentarily to pause since you are maxing out all your resources (namely your ram). Check windows task manager to see if you arent exceeding your commit charge. If the peak value is higher than what RAM you got...then you know you are maxing ya resources. Page file history should also tell you when you are spiking and the like. Maybe spru can tell you something I dont know.
There are ways around your problem kreig, so you should speak to spru...but i think you are stalling the inevitable. And that is a full reinstall of windows. It could be due for a cleanup.
But dont do a full reinstall until you have exhausted ALL other alternative avenues.
You would be surprised as to how much quicker your pc will run after a full reinstall. I did a full reinstall before I took my machine to be upgraded and the difference in performance was amazing. (After I got the ram, it was mindblowing)
If you STILL have problems after doing a reinstall (and you havent got any software/driver issues) then its clearly a hardware problem.
Go speak to spru, or SWAT. There are a few KMA'ers who know their way around a PC pretty well. |
