Shane Campbell aka (KMA)Sublime (1990-2007)
Shane Campbell aka (KMA)Sublime (1990-2007)
KMA has lost a dear friend, brother, and clan leader, as Shane Campbell aka (KMA)Sublime, passed away on January 20th 2007. He will be missed, and KMA will never be the same without him, however his wonderful personality, great sense of humor, love of music and animals, and courage, will live in our hearts and memories forever. I ask that all friends of (KMA)Sublime take a moment to remember him here.
| Quote: |
| Shane Alexander Campbell, 16 of Marietta died January 20, 2007. He was a sophomore at Walton High School. Shane loved his music, computer gaming, sports, and animals. He was also a WWII history buff. He is predeceased by his mother, Holly Campbell. He is survived by his father and step-mother, Terry and Claire Campbell; brothers, Travis and Collin Campbell all of Marietta; His maternal grandparents, Ed and Helen Henning of Sandy Springs; many other aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives along the eastern seaboard, and mid-west also survive. |
Once again please take a moment to celebrate Shanes' life and memory by posting here.
ALSO: I would like to organize a group donation to the charity the family has chosen, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation to benefit the Sibley Heart Center. So please watch for a future post about it. |

Thats horrible, I didnt get to know him that well, but i was hoping to be able to. I was hoping everything would be fine, since that post i saw about the operation, farewell man you will be remember by everyone in KMA, and many others.
"A Warrior stands over a comrade's body...he thinks back on his life...thinks about the moments of hell they shared together,
the moments of laughter...never the less the warrior doesn't cry. He smiles....salutes him....picks up his weapon...and fires it....in his name...his honor..."

My condolences to his family and friends. Some how I always though he was older then he really was. It's always a shock when people die that young.
We will all miss you! |

Just came by to pay my respects to sublime and his family. I remember him back in the day playing those A&A games. Can't belive something like this could happen to a young dude, still with the rest of his life ahead of him. I remember I always used to get sublime and spastic mixed up lol. My heart goes out to all that he has known and loved. |

Sublime was a good guy, he was one of the funniest men I know. I personally spent loads of hours with him, either playing games or just chatting on Teamspeak. I remeber the last game we played as if it was yesturday, ofcourse we had a blast. I will never forget Sublime no matter what happens. I can still hear Sublime in my head saying "WoRd".

well im not ashamed to say I've been doing my share of crying since I found out on Friday. I looked upon him as a brother, and he reminded me alot of myself when I was his age.
I first introduced him to photoshop and it made me happy (and proud) to know he later took a class for it, and was having fun doing some graphic stuff.
Alot of the time he made me feel like a teenager again... Giving me insight on some of the coolest new bands which I usually liked..... but I'm an old man now so I didnt always know about them otherwise...
Laughing our asses off as Livo ranted about dolfantye and mech reliability....
Spent nearly everyday of the summer of 2005 with this guy, and he was always in a good mood, laughing, having fun... He was the type of guy when you first met him, within 5min you knew you liked him.... and to think that whole time he was dealing with serious health issues, which he never spoke of. We only knew about his pacemaker because we pry'd it out of him when he went missing once.
I need a break I will continue this later - we love you brother |

My condolences to his family and friends. It's always hard to lose a family member, especially one so young. Shane will be missed greatly within our community. |

My condolences, he was a really nice person. It is very sad he has passed away so young, I wish he had lived longer. He truly was one of the nicest guys online in AnA and the couple of times I met him on TS he was always friendly and funny.
Rest in peace Sublime. |

Sublime sure was an interesting guy from how I remembered him. Although I didn't speak as intimately with him as the other guys in the KMA clan, I sure had my fun moments with him. We'd laugh like crazy at each other's jokes and have the jolliest time. That was one thing we could always depend on each other for, a fun, light-hearted time. I sure will miss those moments. But the laughs will never disappear as the clouds in the sky. They merely drift around but they are always there, just as you will be Sublime in all of our memories. Don't rest in peace, but rest in happiness, for you have brought laughter into the world, at least for me. -Ice |

I didn't know Sublime that closely. He seemed quiet. I feel for his family and best friends. Like the rest, I will certainly feel a deep sense of loss, but nothing like his family will. That is what we perhaps need to think about the most, his family.
I do want to say, that during this moment of loss, we may learn a good lesson. People are worth more than anything. Games are merely entertainment and a means of building friendships. The tears shed, words spoken, the smiles, the moments of joy, the cheers, the moments of sadness and disappointment, are all heart moments expressed to one another. Friendships are built on such. People are eternal. Friendships are priceless. Remember that when the time for moving on comes. We are all worth very much.
The rest I have to say is entirely optional. If you don't care to read anything spiritual stop here. I'm a believer in Jesus Christ, and spent alot of my time and energy trying to follow him. In that regard, if you feel like discussing anything about that in response to Sublime's passing, I would be honored to. Please, keep in mind I care not to change anyone. That's not going to be my intent. If you need someone who will listen to, and that's all, I am all ears. This is a time for grieving. It is perfectly right for us to feel the loss, and to be sorrowful. Jesus felt this way over the loss of one of his best friends, whom he ultimately restored to life. Nobody is supposed to be normal during a time like this. Let you're tears flow. Don't hold it in. Don't deny the hurt. Most men have a hard time admitting pain, and bury it. In honor of Sublime, don't do that. Let youreself hurt for his passing. He deserves that much. Finally, please don't let it destroy you. Sublime would be honored by you're heartfelt tears, but also by you're ability to keep on going. Just don't move past this too fast. That would be bad.
Thanks, and may God be with you friends. |

'Tis indeed a great shock and a particularly great loss for not only the entire KMA clan, but more so for the entire Axis and Allies community. Im sure that his warmth, not to mention his excellent gaming skills on the battlefield, will be sorely missed by everyone across all of the A&A clans.
I know sublime loves the fact i write long essays...and so this 'essay' is dedicated to him...
I fondly remember how sublime used to put on a very good australian accent and i always knew it was him. His 'Gday mate' would easily pass for an aussie local and im sure he would have loved it down here in Oz. His maturity indicated that he was at least a decade older than that what his age actually suggested.
Sublime's gaming nickname perfectly suited him, for not only was he sublime on the battlefield, but also anywhere and everywhere he went throughout the gaming community. He was an excellent sport and very diplomatic in how he interacted with everyone. His reserved stance was sometimes misconstrued for aloofness, but it was this trait which epitomised his maturity.
Sublime's humour, wit and general attitude in life bathed everyone within KMA. This resulted always with a positive experience for all those involved. His laughter during my 'mechanical reliability' rant, amongst others, will always be cherish and savoured. I know that he always loved to hear me speak on TS and we would share many funny and great moments together on TS.
On a more personal note, I not only feel honoured, but privileged to have known sublime, and played both with and against him on the battlefield. Our times together will always stay with me as fond memories and all the gaming films involving him that I have saved will be sincerely cherished.
To his family and friends outside of the gaming community, please accept my humble condolences. It saddens me greatly that such a fine person has had to depart us so soon. I will greatly miss him.
Primi moje saucesce. Neka mu dobra zemlja
(Accept my condolences. May he rest in peace) |

This one hurts. Sublime is one of the best guys Ive never met. I knew he was young but never thought that young. Ive gamed with him for hours and hours over the last 2 years and he will truly be missed. My prayers go out to him and his family. |
