Running Axis and Allies in Widescreen

Has anyone been able to achieve this? I tried playing in a window box but isnt the same. Sad The image seems to be streched out. I have a 24 inch monitor from Viewsonic further specs. can be found below:

Unfortunately the resolution sizes for A&A are fixed.
The viewable battlefield area will be the same on a 15" or a 52". I have a 25" widescreen but still run the game in 800x600 since my current pc is a low-end dell (new pc on the way Smile )
