a ladder is just like an ongoing tournament. Some games have a ladder built into their stats system... You climb the "ladder" by beating opponents ahead of you in the standings.

The mods should go in the direction of size not content. Is there a way to make the game run smoothly(less graphics maybe) and have 5v5 1280 map? Or even 6v6?
A crash in the game would allow a 4v5 to continue with 25 unit/tent max to each player on the 4 side. You could eventually win a 1v5 with 120 units 120 tents verse the 5 with 20 tents 20 units. Essentially, always 120 verse 120.

I like the mod ideas, and you can adjust the unit cap, but it is global and can't be made conditional of anyone dropping from the game... not without access to the game source code at least.

you can adjust for max players and if you simplified some things it could possibly run ok. The mapping is one part of A&A I'm not as familiar with so can't speak to that.

Back to the topic of the ladder, I'll be taking applications for the beta in a few days Smile
