I did'nt care much for Guns of Nav, but being a submariner, Das Boot was the best submarine flick out there, and definently one of the top 10 of all time.

Couple of more I'd like to mention:

Sink The Bismark
Mosqueto Squadren
Midway
Shindler's List

I turned off the pianist after I saw the little boy crushed under the drainage in the brick wall. Some reason, I can see thousands of dead bodies, but the suffering of 1 child effects me more.

Good choices, but here are some of my favorites:

The Longest Day - absolutely the best war movie I have seen

Patton - I have to disagree with Spas on this one, I liked the history aspect.

The Green Berets - If you are a fan of Vietnam war movies, this is a classic.

Red Dawn - A bit unbelievable, but at the same time something that no other movie took on, the invasion of North America.

Midway - Very well done, a bit mushy and slow at times.

Full Metal Jacket - 1st part of the movie is awesome, 2 nd part is just OK.

A Bridge Too Far - About Market Garden, very good film.

The Tank - More of a drama, but based on a Russian tank that gets lost in Afganastan.

Apocolypse Now - Weird movie, but very enjoyable.

Battle of the Bulge - pretty good, but the fight scenes were a bit staged.

Guns of Navarrone - fairly good

Dirty Dozen - great flick with lots of stars

Thin Red Line - just saw this, very good film.

If you didn't notice yet, I love movies...

Edit - damn good call one the Big Red One and Iron Cross - two of Lee Marvin's best films.
